SITUATION: An area of high pressure system sitting over The Bahamas will
move eastwards while a strong cold front that will swing across the
islands beginning late Friday.
Thursday 21st – Partly sunny, mild
and breezy with the chance of isolated showers, becoming partly cloudy
tonight. Maximum Temperature 79°F and Minimum Temperature 61°F. Small
Craft Advisory in effect for the Central & Southeast Bahamas. Winds
NE-E 10-15 knots in the in the Northwest
Bahamas and NE 15-25 knots in the Central & Southeast Bahamas. Seas
2-4 feet over the ocean in the Northwest Bahamas and 5-8 feet in the
Central & Southeast Bahamas.
Friday 22nd – Cloudy to overcast and windy with heavy showers and
thunderstorms. Maximum Temperature 78°F and Minimum Temperature 65°F.
Small Craft Advisory in effect with possible Gale Force conditions.
Mariners are advised to adhere to these warnings. Winds SE 20-25 knots
across the Northwest Bahamas and E 20-25 knots across the Central &
Southeast Bahamas. Seas 7-10 feet over the ocean.
Saturday 23rd –
Variable cloudiness, very windy with scattered showers and isolated
thunderstorms. Maximum Temperature 78°F and Minimum Temperature 62°F.
Small Craft Advisory with possible Gale force conditions. Mariners are
advised to adhere to these warnings. Winds SE 20-25 knots across the
Northwest Bahamas and E 20-25 knots across the Central Bahamas and SW-W
15-25 knots across the Southeast Bahamas. Seas 10-14 feet across the
ocean in the Northwest & Central Bahamas and 5-8 feet Across the
Southeast Bahamas.
Sunday 24th – Cloudy, windy and cool during
the day with showers and possible early morning thunderstorms in the
Southeast Bahamas; fair at nighttime. Maximum Temperature 77°F and
Minimum Temperature 60°F. Small Craft Advisory in effect with possible
Gale Force conditions. Mariners are advised to adhere to these warnings.
Winds NW-N 25-25 knot with some reprieve during the nighttime. Seas
10-14 feet over the ocean and will subside a bit during the nighttime.
Monday 25th – Pleasant weather expected. Maximum Temperature 79°F and
Minimum Temperature 62°F. Winds NE –E 10-15 knots. Seas 2-4 feet over
the ocean.
Tuesday 26th – Partly sunny with a chance of brief
showers. Maximum Temperature 81°F and Minimum Temperature 68°F. Winds
E-SE 10-15 knots. Seas 2-4 feet over the ocean.
Wednesday 27th –
Partly sunny at first becoming cloudy with widely scattered showers and
possible thunderstorms during late afternoon or evening hours mainly in
the vicinity of the Northwest Bahamas. Maximum Temperature 82°F and
Minimum Temperature 67°F. Small Craft Caution in effect. Winds SE-S
15-20 knots. Seas 4-6 feet over the ocean.
