Based on numerous reports emanating from Eleuthera, residents are being strongly urged to avoid the Glass Window Bridge due to strong winds gusting in excess of gale force strength.

Additionally, residents in the remainder of the Northwest and Central Bahamas should safeguard life and property along the coasts due to strong winds and rough surf conditions due to breaking waves and sea spray that can reduce visibility and create hazardous road conditions.

Moreover, mariners in the Northwest Bahamas are being urged to remain in port until further advised.
