… Ana weakens a little more center just offshore of North Myrtle Beach South Carolina…
At 5:00 am EDT, the center of Ana was located by NOAA weather radar and surface observations near latitude 33.8°north and longitude 78.7° west or about 5 miles south of Myrtle Beach South Carolina.
Ana is moving toward the north-northwest near 5 mph. A turn toward the north is expected to occur later today, followed by a turn toward the northeast with a gradual increase in forward speed on Monday. On the forecast track, the center of Ana should move onshore in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area within the couple of hours.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 miles per hour (mph) with higher gusts. Weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours as the center moves inland.
Tropical-storm-winds extend outward up to 125 miles from the center. During the past few hours, NOAA buoy 41013, located about 35 miles south-southeast of Cape Fear North Carolina, reported a sustained wind of 38 mph with a gust to 47 mph.
