Tropical Storm Danny continues to weaken 5pm Update - Aug. 23)

News item on Tropical Storm Danny issued by the Bahamas Department of Meteorology forecast office section, at 6pm Sunday 23rd august 2015… …

At 5pm EDT, the center of Danny was located near latitude 15.6°north and longitude 59.0° west or about 165 miles east-southeast of Guadeloupe or about 210 miles east-southeast of Antigua.

Danny is moving toward the west at 16 mph and a westward to west-northwestward motion is expected over the next 48 hours. On this forecast track, the center will move near or over portions of the Leeward Islands late tonight or early Monday, and into the northeastern Caribbean Sea on Monday.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 40 miles per hour (mph) with higher gusts.  Continued weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours and Danny is expected to become a depression on Monday.

The next news item will be issued at 6am Monday (if necessary).
