NHC is issuing advisories on newly formed Tropical Storm Gonzalo, the seventh named storm of the 2014 Atlantic hurricane season.

Gonzalo is centered at 2 p.m. EDT/AST about 200 miles east of Guadeloupe, moving toward the west.

Maximum sustained winds are 40 mph, and strengthening during the next 48 hours is forecast.

A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Guadeloupe, Desirade, Les Saintes, Marie Galante, St. Martin, St. Barthelemy, St. Maartin, Saba, St. Eustatius, Babuda, Antigua, Anguilla, St. Kitts, Nevis and Montserrat.

A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Puerto Rico, Vieques, Culebra, and both the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.

On the forecast track, the center of Gonzalo is expected to move through the Leeward Islands on Monday. Tropical storm conditions are expected to first reach the coastlines in the warning area by Monday morning, making outside preparations difficult and dangerous.
