News Item On Tropical Storm Jose Issued By The Bahamas Department Of Meteorology Forecast Office Section, At 6am Wednesday 06th September 2017. … Jose Expected To Become A Hurricane By Tonight … At 5:00am Edt, The Center Of Tropical Storm Jose Was Located Near Latitude 12.5° North And Longitude 42.8° West Or About 1255 Miles East Of The Lesser Antilles. Tropical Storm Jose Is Moving Toward The West At 13 Mph. A Slightly Faster West To West-northwest Motion Is Expected During The Next Two Days. Maximum Sustained Winds Have Increased To Near 60 Miles Per Hour (Mph) With Higher Gusts. Additional Strengthening Is Forecast, And Jose Is Expected To Become A Hurricane By Tonight.

Tropical Storm Katia Is Moving Toward The East-southeast At 2 Mph, And The System Should Gradually Turn Southeastward During The Next 24 Hours And Continue Moving In This General Direction Through Thursday. A Turn Toward The Southwest Is Forecast On Friday. On The Forecast Track, The Center Of Katia Is Expected To Remain Offshore Of Mexico Through Friday Morning. Maximum Sustained Winds Have Increased To Near 40 Miles Per Hour (Mph) With Higher Gusts. Some Strengthening Is Forecast During The Next 48 Hours.
