Freeport, Bahamas - The 3rd annual FLIFF On Location: Grand Bahama Island film festival runs from Thursday, October 31st through Sunday, November 3rd at the Pelican Bay Canal House in Freeport. Aside from international and Bahamian films, the event will provide informative talks and workshops on filmmaking by local and international industry presenters.

"The beauty of film festivals is that movie enthusiasts get to meet some of the filmmakers," said Gregory von Hausch, Founder of FLIFF. "After their films we always open up the floor for a question and answers with the filmmaker. It's a great way to go even deeper into understanding a film. This year some of our guests are offering 1 hour mini-talks or workshops to give patrons an even deeper conversation."

As a special treat to local schools in Grand Bahama, FLIFF guest,  naturalist and underwater photographer, Jonathan Bird will be presenting from his acclaimed underwater science adventure series, BLUE WORLD I on Thursday, October 31st at 10am and BLUE WORLD II on Friday, November 1st at 10am. The Bahamas writer, director and producer,  Dr. Ian Strachan, will lead a workshop on Saturday, November 2nd at 10am called, "Stories That Matter".  Stories That Matter workshop is geared toward preparing writers to bring engaging stories to the small and big screens.  "Drama is about conflict.  The more difficult circumstances become for your characters the more interested your audience is in your story.  And your characters ought to be people your audience can relate to; people they can root for, or can dislike passionately.  'Real' characters, and 'real' problems equal real good drama," said Strachan, writer, producer and director of the television series, GIPPIE'S KINGDOM .

"I am happy to be a part of FLIFF in Freeport and happy to share my experiences. I really do believe The Bahamas is undergoing an artist revolution and that the world will want to hear and see our stories."
