Grand Bahama Island - If you haven't visited the Garden Cafe and Bar at the Garden of the Groves recently, it is time to go! The cafe has become a popular gathering spot for the community. Julia Ryan and her staff prepare succulent entrees on the grill with the freshest of salads.

The popular and healthy Chicken Greek Salad are available at the Cafe every day

There are the old favourites like Salmon, Steak, Bratwurst and Burgers but on Friday night specials are being offered. There is Flank Steak or Spicy Chicken served on a delicious salad of baby greens, spinach, grapes, kiwi, strawberries, alfalfa sprouts, snappy peas, tossed in an olive oil and orange dressing. Barbecue Ribs have also become a favourite on Friday evenings served with potato salad or a choice of Greek, Caesar or Garden salad. Now that the evenings are cooler, delicious soups like leek, potato or broccoli can also be found among the specials. To top off the evening there is always the choice of home-baked carrot or cheese cake, prepared on site by Tina, the pastry chef.

On Friday nights, while dining, you are entertained by our video music productions on our new large movie screen on the cafe deck. This week you can enjoy Barry Manilow.

Saturday and Sunday morning breakfast are popular with the early risers. The cafe opens at 9 am and serves eggs, waffles, pancakes and bacon as well as a classic smoked salmon platter with creme cheese and bagels.

The Garden Cafe and Bar is such a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the Garden. You may sit under the covered deck along the ponds and waterfalls or choose to have a more private location on one of the three decks near or under the giant fig tree. This area is especially suited for larger parties. Total seating capacity at the Cafe and Bar is 130 persons.

And if you are concerned about mosquitos - don't be! We have invested substantial research and resources into our innovative mosquito magnets. We have placed five of these units that look like outboard motors throughout the Garden and the results have been astounding! Our guests and visitors have questioned us this summer about the absence of the bugs! Yes, these units are working - they will only dispose of biting insects but not harm any other wildlife!
