$5M drug bust at Freeport Container Port

Freeport, Bahamas - Law Enforcement Officers in Grand Bahama uncovers a large amount of Dangerous Drugs at the Freeport Container Port.

Reports are that on Friday 12th August 2016 shortly before 12:00pm, Law Enforcement Officers acting on information went to the Freeport Container Port and conducted a search of a 20 ft. container where they discovered seven duffel bags of suspected cocaine. The estimated weight is 253 lbs and has a street value of over five million dollars. The drugs were all transported to the Drug Enforcement Unit Office. No arrest was made in this matter, investigation is continuing.

Police are also urging anyone who may have any information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at328-TIPS (8477)
