Freeport, Bahamas - Police in Grand Bahama are investigating an apparent drowning that has left a 48 year old male dead.

The incident reportedly occurred shortly after 12:00pm on Thursday 20th October 2016, a male was diving in waters at northern point, North Star, Lucayan Way, when he began experiencing difficulties. He was retrieved from waters and transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital by EMS personnel where he was pronounced dead.

Police are actively investigating this matter.
