Grand Bahama Emerald Bay Homicide Victim Identified

Freeport, Bahamas - Police in Grand Bahama have identified the homicide victim who died on Tuesday 8th April 2014 while at a residence in Emerald Bay, Grand Bahama as that of Edgar George Dart age 56 years of Winnipeg, Canada.

Police are actively investigating this matter.

Reports are on Tuesday 8th April 2014 around 9:30am, police received information that a male was fatally shot at a residence in the Emerald Bay area. Officers responded and it was reported that sometime around 7:00am on Tuesday 8th April 2014, a male reported that while at home with his family three masked men armed with a handgun and a machete entered their home and they were robbed, an altercation occurred between the assailant and one of the male resident who was fatally shot.

EMS personnel responded and the body was pronounced dead at the scene by doctors from the Rand Memorial Hospital.

Police are actively investigating this matter and are appealing to the general public for anyone with information that can assist them with their investigation to contact them at telephone numbers 350-3107/8, 911/919 or call your nearest police station.
