Officers at the Eight Mile Police Division are coordinating their efforts on the streets in West Grand Bahama in keeping with the fourth point of the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2012, to “Enforce the Rules of the Road.”
At 6:30am on Wednesday 1st February, 2012, the team could be seen on Garnet Levarity Highway at the round-about near Queens Highway sending a clear message to those motorists who are speeding and committing other infractions that are in breach of the Road Traffic Act.
This initiative resulted in twenty-eight (28) drivers being cited for various offences ranging from unlicensed vehicle to speeding.
We are encouraging the motoring public to ensure that their vehicles are road worthy and they continue to drive with consideration for other road users.
