Grand Bahama armed robbery in home on Lunar Blvd - Drug arrest in Bimini & Freeport

Police in Grand Bahama are questioning a 24 year old male suspect for an armed robbery that occurred overnight.

Reports are that on Thursday 26th March 2015 shortly after 1:00am, police received information that a male and female while at their residence in the Lunar Blvd area, were accosted by two males whom they described as standing at 6’ tall,dark complexion, wearing dark clothing, masked, gloves and armed with knives,entered the room where they were staying and demanded cash. They were robbed of cash and personnel items. The suspects then fled on foot in nearby bushes. A short time later police acting on information arrested a 24 year old suspect of Freeport, Grand Bahama who is wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet and is assisting police with their investigation into this matter.

Police in Grand Bahama and Bimini are investigating two separate drug arrest matters.

The first incident occurred on Wednesday 25th March 2015 around 7:00pm, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit while in the Clarke Avenue area, searched a group of young men gathered and discovered on a 19 year old male a clear plastic bag containing suspected cocaine. The male suspect of Coral Reef estates was arrested and taken into custody.

The second incident occurred on Thursday 25th March 2015 around 3:00am, Officers of the Bimini District acting on information and armed with a search warrant entered a home in the Bailey Town, Bimini area, where they discovered a quantity of marijuana in a laundry basket. Five male resident of that home was arrested and taken into police custody.

Investigations are continuing in both matters.
