Grand Bahama housebreaking suspects arraigned

Freeport, Bahamas - Police in Grand Bahama arraigned two males before the Magistrate Court on charges of Housebreaking and Stealing.

Jonathan Pierre age 22 years of Arden Forrest, Freeport, Grand Bahama was arraigned on Wednesday 9th April 2014 before Deputy Chief Magistrate Helen Jones in Magistrate Court #3 on (3) counts of Housebreaking and Stealing. He pleaded guilty to one count of Housebreaking and was sentenced to (18) months at Her Majesty’s Prison. He pleaded not guilty to (2) counts of Housebreaking and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison in New Providence until the 3rd June 2014 for trial.

Joseph Bain Jr. age 24 years of Colony Club, Freeport, Grand Bahama was arraigned on Wednesday 9thin Magistrate Court #3 on (1) count of Housebreaking and Stealing. He pleaded guilty to the charge of Stealing and was fine $750.00 or (3) months at Her Majesty’s Prison. On the charge of Housebreaking he pleaded not guilty and was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison until the 7 April 2014 before Deputy Chief Magistrate Helen Jones th June 2014 for trial.

These incidents were reported to have occurred between Friday 7th February and Friday 7th April 2014 in the Lucaya area.

Items stolen were televisions, jewelry, cash and clothing along with other items.  

Items recovered were passports, two televisions, jewelry and clothing.
