Reports are that on Thursday 23rd July 2015 shortly after 11:00pm, police were called to the Caravel Beach area, where they met a male with multiple gunshot wounds about the body. EMS personnel were called to the scene and the victim was transported to the Rand Memorial Hospital where he was seen by doctor who listed his condition as critical.

On Friday 25th July 2015 shortly before 3:00am, the victim succumbed to his injuries.  Police are actively investigating this matter and are appealing to the general public for anyone who may have any information that can assist the police, to contact them at the Central Detective Unit at telephone numbers 350-3107/12, 911/919 or call your nearest police station.
