RBPF: Grand Bahama police arrest (5) persons on 3 separate incidents

Freeport, Grand Bahama - In the first incident a male and female were arrested by officers of the Lucaya Division after they were found in possession of items that were stolen from a Resort on Princess Isle. Reports are that on Wednesday 11th July 2018 shortly after 10:00am, police received a stealing report at a local resort. Officers later arrested the suspects who were found in possession of all items.

In the second incident on the same date, shortly after 12:00pm, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit, arrest a male after he was found in possession of a quantity of marijuana and cocaine.

Reports are that Drug Enforcement officers, while on patrol arrested the male in the area of Hearne lane, who was found in possession of (10) wraps of suspected marijuana and (27) zip lock bags of suspected cocaine. The 20 year old male of Tasman Close was taken into police custody.

In the third incident, on the same date, shortly after 8:00pm, Officers of the Mobile Division acting on information went to a business establishment on Queens Highway, where they arrested two males ages 63 years and 51 years of Grand Bahama for possession of stolen items from that business establishment.

Officers of the Grand Bahama and the Northern Bahamas District, would like to take this opportunity to thank the Grand Bahama Community for their assistance in these matters.

SUMMER SAFETY SWIMMING TIPS-
  • Never leave children alone in or near water, including beaches,pools, bathtubs, sinks or toilets.
  • Ensure that children swim in designated swimming areas while at the beach or pool. Always check the depth of the water before diving. If swimming in the ocean, check the current and under-tow.
  • Be sure that every child wears fitting life jacket when on a boat or near water.
  • Teach children how to swim. Get professional training, but never rely solely on the swimming lessons to protect your child from drowning.
  • Learn first-aid and CPR, especially infant CPR.
