Freeport, Bahamas - Consistent with the Commissioners Policing Plan for 2017, Officers of the Mobile Division took a male into custody for firearm possession on Sunday 26th February 2017.

Reports are that shortly before 11:00pm, Mobile Officers were on routine patrol on East Sunrise Highway, when they stopped a vehicle that aroused their suspicion, a male passenger was searched where a .40 pistol with six live rounds of ammunition was discovered in his waist. The male was subsequently arrested and taken into police custody.

Investigation is continuing in this matter.
