Multi-million dollar drug bust in Grand Bahama - Drug arrest at GB Airport

Item 1

Freeport, Bahamas - Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a major drug seizure that has left three Grand Bahamian males in custody.

Reports are that on Sunday 16th November 2014 at 5:00am, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on information and armed with a search warrant proceeded to a residence in the Arden Forrest area where they discovered one hundred and thirteen crocus bags of suspected marijuana and a suit case of suspected marijuana hash oil. Three Grand Bahamians were arrested and taken into police custody.

The estimated weight of the suspected marijuana is 5,640.5lbs and its estimated street value is 5.6 million dollars. The estimated weight of the suspected hash oil is 67.5 lbs. and its street value is estimated at $607,500 six hundred and seven thousand, five hundred dollars.Investigation into this matter is ongoing.


Item 2:

Police in Grand Bahama have in their custody a 33 year old male who they arrested while at the Domestic Terminal at the Grand Bahama Airport for Dangerous Drugs.

Reports are that on Saturday 15th November 2014 shortly after 6:00pm, police arrested a 33 year old male of Bass Lane, Grand Bahama for Possession of Dangerous Drugs with intent to supply after he attempted to clear airport security check. The estimated weight of the suspected drugs is1.3 lbs. and the estimated value is $1,000 one thousand dollars.

Investigations are continuing in this matter.
