Grand Bahama police discover illegal firearms and ammunition after foot chase

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Reports are that on Tuesday 11th September 2018, shortly before 10:00pm, officers of the Central Detective Unit while on mobile patrol in the area of Coral Road and Royal Palm Way, observed a male on a motorcycle acting suspicious. The male upon seeing the officers fled the scene, and was observed throwing an object into bushes. Officers gave chase but the suspect was able to make good his escape. Officers went back to the area where they discovered a bag containing (2) two pistols with (13) live rounds of 9mm ammunition.

Police are actively investigating.
