Possession of unlicensed firearm & ammunition arrests on Grand Bahama

Police in Grand Bahama have four males and a female in custody for Possession of Firearms and Ammunition on three separate incidents.

The first incident occurred on Saturday 20th June 2015 shortly before 1:00pm at the Grand Bahama International Airport, a 49 year old male of Rosedale, Louisiana, U.S.A., was arrested by police after a .9mm pistol with (8) live rounds of ammunition was discovered in a luggage he presented at security check point. He was arrested by police and taken into custody.

The second incident occurred on Sunday 21st June 2015 shortly after 1:00am, police arrested a 25 year old male of Hampshire Drive, South Bahamia for Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.
The incident reportedly occurred at a business establishment on East Sunrise Highway where the male was found with a .9mm pistol and (3) live rounds of ammunition. He was arrested and taken into custody.

The third incident occurred on Sunday 21st June 2015 shortly before 4:00am, officers of the Mobile Division while on East Sunrise Highway, acting on information, attempted to stop a 2000 Maxima vehicle. Officers observed the occupants throwing an item from the vehicle that was later discovered to be a .22 pistol with live ammunition. Two males and a female who were occupants of the vehicle where arrested in this matter.
