RBPF: Attempted armed robbery foiled in Grand Bahama

ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY FOILED, TWO MEN ARE IN
POLICE CUSTODY IN GRAND BAHAMA

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Reports are that on Tuesday 2nd October 2018, shortly after 1:00am, police were called to Waterfall Drive, in Seahorse Village, where two males reportedly entered a home brandishing a firearm and a knife, and demanded cash and other personal properties from residents who reside in the home. The occupants resisted and a fight ensued where the culprits were stabbed multiple times about the body. The culprits then tried to escape in a vehicle, but were again interrupted by residents of the home and the vehicle received extensive damages. 

Both suspects were arrested by police and were transported via ambulance to the Rand Memorial Hospital under heavy police presence. They were seen by doctor and their injuries are listed as serious.

Police also retrieved at that scene, a black imitation pistol, a knife and one vehicle.
Active police investigation will continue in this matter.

  • Keep vehicles locked, with the windows up at all times when parked at home or work.
  • Remove all valuables including purses, cell phones, laptop computers and other electronic items, gym bags and briefcases from your vehicle.
