RBPF Grand Bahama: Dangerous Drugs Arrest

DRUG ENFORCEMENT UNIT OFFICERS IN THREE SEPARATE INCIDENTS, ARREST ONE MALE FOR POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS DRUGS AND DISCOVER AMMUNITION AND SUSPECTED MARIJUANA.


Nassau, Bahamas - In the first incident on Friday 17th August 2018, shortly after 12:00pm, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit along with officers of the Central Detective Unit and Rapid Response, acting on information and armed with a search warrant, went to a residence on Hearne Lane where they discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. A male suspect who resides at that residence was arrested and taken into police custody.

In the second incident, shortly after 5:00pm on Friday 17th August 2018, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit, while in the Coral Gardens area conducted a search of a dilapidated building, where they discovered a quantity of suspected marijuana and forty .45 rounds of ammunition. The estimated weight of the suspected marijuana is 10lbs and its street value is $10,000. No arrest was made in this matter.

In the third incident, shortly after 11:00pm on Friday 17th August 2018, Officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit, while in the area of Coral Gardens, observed a male who upon seeing the officers fled the area on foot. Officers then made a check of the area where they discovered (1) black extended magazine that contained (7) rounds of .9mm ammunition. No arrest was made in this matter.
