DROWNING INCIDENT – GRAND BAHAMA

Freeport, Bahamas - Police in Grand Bahama are investigating a drowning incident that has left a male dead.

Reports are that on Saturday 2nd June 2018, shortly before 4:00pm, police were called to the Fortune Bay area, Black Beards Beach, where a male reportedly went swimming in the canal and began experiencing difficulties, he was seen floating in waters. Efforts were made to retrieve the body to no avail because of a strong current. His body was later retrieved from waters by boat.

Police are actively investigating this matter.

OFFICERS FROM THE RAPID RESPONSE UNIT ARREST THREE PERSONS ON DRUG POSSESSION AND WARRANTS OF ARREST. 

Reports are that on Friday 1st June 2018, Officers of the Rapid Response Unit, armed with search warrants, arrested three persons on various offences such as, possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to supply and outstanding warrants of arrest, including a male who is wanted by the Central Detective Unit for grievous harm and attempted armed robbery.

They are all expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court early next week.
