RBPF Grand Bahama: Operation Thunder Sweep

Freeport, Grand Bahama - In keeping with the Commissioner’s Policing Plan for 2018, priority‘s #1, Officers of the Grand Bahama District, under the command of Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Samuel Butler, took (5) males into custody, after they were found in possession of illegal Firearms, Ammunition and Dangerous Drugs.

Reports are that on Friday 25th May 2018, shortly after 11pm, three males were arrested in the Eight Mile Rock area after a black .40 pistol with (8) rounds of ammunition were discovered in a 2007 Nissan Note that they were driving.

Further on Saturday 26th May 2018, shortly after 1:00am, a male was arrested while in the parking lot of a business establishment on East Sunrise Highway. Officers arrested the male after he was found in possession of a quantity of dangerous drugs namely marijuana and he was also wanted by the Central Police Station on an outstanding warrant.

Officers later arrested another male shortly after 3:00am, on the East Mall Drive, after searching his vehicle and a .40 pistol with (12) live rounds of ammunition were discovered. 

All matters are under active police investigation and all suspects are expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court on Monday 28th May 2018.
