RBPF Grand Bahama: Operation Urban Night

Grand Bahama Police in an island wide operation between Friday 3rd May 2019 and Saturday 4th May 2019 made (7) significant arrests.

Freeport, Grand Bahama - In a combined effort with various stations in Grand Bahama and in keeping with the Commissioners Policing Plan for 2019, “Operation Urban Night” was initiated by Grand Bahama police between Friday 3rd May 2019 and Saturday 4th May 2019, that resulted in (7) persons arrested for various offenses. 

This was in an effort to specifically focus on crime hotspots, repeat offenders and to disrupt organized crime groups involved in firearm, fraud and other related criminal activities.


Officers of the Central Detective Unit took into custody one male after he was found in possession of a substantial amount of suspected marijuana.

Reports are that on Saturday 4th May 2019 shortly after 5:00pm, officers of the Central Detective Unit acting on information and armed with a search warrant, went to an apartment in North Bahamia, where a search of a residence and a vehicle resulted in the discovery of a quantity of suspected marijuana. Subsequently officers also made a search of a bushy area adjacent to the property and discovered (3) plastic bags containing suspected marijuana, weighing five pounds and valued at $5,000.00

Investigation into this matter is continuing.
