Grand Bahama suspect arraigned for copper wire theft

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Christopher Simms age 46 years of Freeport, Grand Bahama was arraigned on Monday

24th August 2015, on (4) counts of Stealing. He appeared in Magistrate Court #3 before Magistrate Rengin Johnson and pleaded guilty to all the charges. He was sentenced to three (3) years at The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.

These matters are in connection to stealing of copper wires from business establishments and homes in the Freeport area.

CRIME PREVENTION TIP

If you are planning to be away from home for any extended period, let a trusted neighbor know when you are leaving and returning. Always report any suspicious activity or individuals in your neighborhood immediately to the police by calling 911/919. Try to provide a detailed description of the individuals and activity, including description of vehicles that they may have used.

Remember that the enemies of the Burglar are time and attention. The longer it takes to enter and the more noise the culprit makes increases his chances of being seen and caught.

TRAFFIC SAFETY TIP:

Motorcycle riders… speed limits and traffic signals are also meant for you. Keep both wheels of your motorcycle on the road at all times and always wear a helmet. Slowdown! If not for your own safety, then for the safety of others.
