Grand Bahama suspect arraigned on indecent assault charge - Firearm arrest

SUSPECT ARRAIGNED ON INDECENT ASSAULT CHARGE – GRAND BAHAMA


Freeport, Bahamas - Michael Dossantos age 38 years of Hudson Avenue and a citizen of Guyana, was arraigned on Thursday 28th April 2016 before Magistrate Debbye Ferguson in Magistrate Court #1 on Indecent Assault charge. He pleaded not guilty and was granted ten thousand dollar cash bail and also to surrender his passport to the Magistrate Court. The matter was adjourned to the 26th July 2016 for trial.

FIREARM ARREST – GRAND BAHAMA

Consistent with the Commissioners Policing Plan for 2016, Officers of Operation Turf Sweep on Wednesday 27th April 2016 shortly after 11:00pm while in the South Bahamia area, conducted a search of a vehicle with three passengers inside and discovered on one of the passengers a .357 revolver with (1) .357 live rounds of ammunition.

A 32 year old male of Quakoo Street, Holmes Rock was arrested and taken into police custody. He is expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court this week.

Police are also urging anyone who may have any information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477) or 1-242-300-8477 (FAMILY ISLANDS)
