Grand Bahama suspects arraigned on possession of unlicensed Firearm and Ammunition charges

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Francis Peter Benoit age 65 years and Sharon Turner Benoit age 62 years both of #80 Hangman Close, Fortune Bay, Grand Bahama and both American citizens, were formally arraigned on Tuesday 27th September 2016, before Deputy Chief Magistrate Debbye Ferguson in Magistrate Court #1 on Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Possession of Ammunition with the intent to supply charges. Francis Benoit pleaded guilty to both charges and was convicted and fine $10,000 dollars or two years at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services. Sharon Benoit pleaded not guilty and all charges against her was dismissed. 

They were both represented by attorney Kwazi Thompson.
 
This is in connection to a matter reported to police on Thursday 22nd September 2016.
 
Police are also urging anyone who may have any information regarding any crime, no matter how small or insignificant (the tip) may seem, to anonymously call Police at 919 or CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477)
