Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - The Bahamas Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Hubert Ingraham traveled to Grand Bahama on March 30th, just one day after tornadoes touched down on the island and caused the death of three persons working at the Freeport Container Port.
CEO of FCP, Gary
Gilbert showed the affected areas and gave an account of damage and explained what took place
to those attending the tour.
Other
areas affected on the island
included the Port
Lucaya area and Hepburn Town, where the Prime Minister toured and spoke to residents.
The PM also visited Rand Memorial
Hospital to speak to the injured.
According to a March 30th Tribune article the names of those who perished were Mike Young, Cleve Lowe, and Sean Saunders.
Counseling is being provided to the families of those who perished as well as others injured, including the staff at the container port.
