Freeport, Bahamas  - Grand Bahama Backyard Farmers is planning a seminar on July 25th to talk to farmers about farming in Grand Bahama what can be grown, and hydroponics.

Grand Bahama Backyard Farmers is a group of young entrepreneurs passionate about partial self sufficiency through backyard farming. The head of our organization Mr Luckner Timothee, has been farming for more than 5 years and have helped schools, churches, tour companies and the Government with training and teaching initiatives that promote awareness of the significant impact backyard farming can have in our immediate community. With a growing backyard farming community we thought it was an ideal time to have a seminar to share ideas, planting techniques and tips for the novice gardening enthusiast and the experienced backyard farmer.

The Backyard Farmers Seminar is being held at the Pelican Bay hotel on Saturday July 25,2015 from 10am 2pm. We are excited to have Mr Fred Riger a local hydroponic farmer, Mr.Leon Cooper our local specialist in Backyard Orchard culture and Ms Haily L. S. Flowers a third year student at West Virginia University majoring in Landscape Architecture & Sustainability.  Ms Flowers will be speaking on Urban Agriculture, the progression of the movement and the long term effects within a community.

We encourage the farming and farming curious community to make the most of this great opportunity to tap into this well of information and come out with your questions and ready to learn.

Tickets can be purchased at BAIC & Ministry of Agriculture and they are moving really fast so get yours or get left behind from one of the biggest events this year.
