Freeport, Grand Bahama: As the anticipation steadily grows throughout the business community for the upcoming ‘Hubei China To The Bahamas – Investment & Trade Mission” scheduled for 29th November – 2nd December 2015, businesses on both Grand Bahama and New Providence, have united their resources to ensure that the four day initiative is a successful venture that could possibly open the door to a reservoir of opportunities for Bahamian entrepreneurs and established business owners throughout The Bahamas.

A network of private businesses and organizations has signed on as partners to the Investment and Trade Mission which is being led by Hubei Province Government Officials and consists of a delegation of executives representing various enterprises in Hubei China.

Companies coming on board to support this business development initiative include The Grand Bahama Island Tourism Board, Sunshine Holdings Limited, Sharon Wilson & Co. Attorneys-at-Law Notaries Public, Mychal Thompson Foundation, Bahamas Chamber of Commerce & Employers’ Confederation, The Grand Lucayan Beach & Golf Resort, Maecal Electronics, A Social Affair, and Derek Carroll Photography. Media Partners include The Freeport News, Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas, The Bahamas Weekly, Keen I Media, Mackey Media Ltd, Happenings Around Town, and Bahama Buy & Sell.

The growing list of companies that have already pledged their support and resources to the event is a strong indicator of the appeal of the initiative that allows Bahamian businesses to take advantage of this direct link to import, export, market research, and sales and distribution channels with Hubei Province.

Organized and co-sponsored by Immerse Bahamas, in conjunction with the Ministry for Grand Bahama, The Grand Bahama Port Authority and The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce, the mission is described as a great opportunity for the representatives to meet one-on-one with Bahamian business owners to discuss potential investment opportunities in The Bahamas. “The Mission not only presents the opportunity for match-making with Hubei enterprises, but with

the proposed signing of the MOU between the China Council for Promotion of International Trade [CCPIT], Sub-Council, Hubei and The Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce, the door is open for continuous exchange of trade and economic cooperation,” said Ginger Moxey, President and CEO of Immerse Bahamas.

“What we will witness, as a result of this initiative, is the development of a number of business relationships; an enlightenment of the opportunities; and a collaborative effort to promote education, trade and economic expansion opportunities for both The Bahamas and Hubei China,” Moxey continued.

Grand Bahama Island was chosen as an ideal “match making” destination for the Trade Mission by CCPIT Hubei, as a part of their ‘Entering America’ initiative, largely because of the island’s industrial attributes. Interested persons can register with the Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce.
