Freeport, Bahamas - The Miss Junior Grand Bahama pageant under the African- based theme
"Tribe of Malakis" held on May 30th 2010 at the Regency Theatre, was a
night filled with suspense and enjoyment. Jasmine Forbes- Miss Fulani
emerged victorious at the end of the night and was crowned Miss Junior
Grand Bahama International. The beautiful Culinary Arts student of the
College of The Bahamas cried tears of joy as she was crowned.
Jasmine captured the judging panel above seven contestants (Rakia Rolle,
Lashelle Forbes, Monet Johnson , Eldaneka Rolle, Danielle Knowles and
Jaquian Williams) by displaying her intelligence in the judges interview
held on May 29th, 2010. She also showcased her talents and stage
presence on the final night. The graceful Ms. Forbes won both Judges
Interview and Talent Award. Jasmine also represented the MJGB
organization as the official contestant Spokes-model.
Presidents of the
organization awarded her The Princess Award as she was the most
well-rounded contestant.The humble eighteen year old is now preparing
for her long journey to serve as a youth ambassador for the island of
Grand Bahama and to represent the country at Miss Teen Universal. After a
tearful crowning she expressed her gratitude to the committee and her
supporters and stated that she was thankful that her hard work paid off
and she will continue to perform to the best of her ability at the
international arena.

Jaquian Williams was announced first runner up hence forth earning the
title as Miss Junior Grand Bahama National. Rakia Rolle placed second
runner up. Both ladies
will represent the island of Grand Bahama at Theodore's Elyett- Miss
Teen Bahamas World Pageant held in New Providence.
Presidents of the Miss Junior Grand Bahama committee Ms. Branee' L Fyne
and Ms. Colette CV Parker have deemed the pageant a great success and
are already in progress preparing these young ladies for both National
and International pageant. Ms.Parker and Ms. Fyne congratulates each
titleholder for a tremendous job.
