Freeport, Grand Bahama Island: In 2012, the Ministry for Grand Bahama was formed with the overarching mandate for the revitalization of Grand Bahama, in conjunction with community partners. Over the years, much effort has been extended to achieve this goal, and the fruits of labour will be realized in the short and long-term, through focused collaborations.

“I am pleased to announce this initiative that is intended to garner a spirit of unity and purpose, as we work together to rebuild Grand Bahama Island,” shared Minister for Grand Bahama, The Hon. Dr. Michael Darville. “Grand Bahama has been through many highs and lows, and one thing that remains unchanged is the indomitable spirit of our people,” he further stated.

From its inception, the Ministry for Grand Bahama has partnered with local corporations, non-profits, the media, and individuals for the restoration, rejuvenation and revitalization of Grand Bahama Island. Over the coming months, much information will be shared on the achievements thus far; the status of projects already announced; and new plans for the island. It will also present an opportunity for others to partner with the Ministry for Grand Bahama to propel our island to the next level.

As a stakeholder of Grand Bahama Island, we share an underlying, common cause -- we all want a better place to live; to work; to grow; to achieve success. 'The Revitalization of Grand Bahama' is about all of us who share this vision; this goal of a better island for our children; a better island for business development; a better island that can be used as a platform for the further growth and development of The Bahamas. With community partners, we will assiduously work together to make it happen!
