Freeport, Bahamas - The Miss Grand Bahama pageant is well underway and  seven lovely ladies wowed the crowd at Chateau on the Green for the Evening Gown and Swimsuit segment.  This year's contestants Sade Colebrook, Danielle Pratt, Alexus Brown, Odell King, Lagina Russell, Phylicia Collie, and Crystal Lightbourn.

To the applause and cheers from family and friends, the young women showed their best form in swimsuits and their style and elegance in gowns of their choice at the July 12th event, choosing their gowns wisely in hopes to best reflect their personality in colours that they love.

In judging the swimsuit competition, judges looked for focus, figure, physical fitness, stage presence, poise, confidence and personality  on how each contestant carries herself. Numerical measurements are not considered in judging.

With the mission of transforming “our young women into true ambassadors for our country," The Miss Grand Bahama Organization is dedicated to grooming young women of Grand Bahama into purpose-driven, community-minded, beautiful young ladies.

The young ladies have already gone through speech training conducted by
Bahamas Youth Ambassador, Ashleigh Rolle, and there are more workshops and training sessions coming up in the days ahead.

"Our new queen should be a young lady who is very mature, intelligent, confident,  and someone who is  easy to work with, and shows gratitude. Most importantly one who wants to give back to the her  community,” said Glenn Davis, Miss Grand Bahama Beauty Pageant Organization Director. "We also want our contestants to enjoy and grow through this experience."
