The Bahamas – Middle East based logistics specialist GAC has formed an alliance with Bahamian agency Elnet Maritime Co. Ltd.,
which will commence operations on the 1st March under the name
GAC-Elnet. Elnet Maritime was only formed in 2008 as a freight vessel
support agency offering full service from ships spares to Customs
clearance and bunker services.
Elnet’s growing reputation suited
GAC when they were investigating the expansion of their services in the
region, particularly for their oil industry clients. One of the key
reasons GAC decided to expand its presence in the Bahamas was an
expected rise in the demand for agency services, partly arising from an
anticipated increase in use of the South Riding Point crude storage and
transhipment terminal on Grand Bahamas, to supply refineries in the USA
with crude oil and feedstock.
Kumar Ganesan, Business Manager at GAC’s Houston Hub Agency Centre says:
“The
local expertise and experience of Elnet Maritime to ensure the best
front-line handling of all operational matters are complemented by the
resources of GAC’s Global Hub Services to make a reliable service to all
our principals in the Bahamas.”
