Freeport, Bahamas -
Contestants and the film crew of the current cycle of Germany's Next
Topmodel were in Grand Bahama last week shooting an episode at various
locations around the island for
the popular show that airs on ProSieben TV of Germany.
Head judge of the show is supermodel Heidi Klum.
The Bahamas Weekly News team caught up to the show at Outriggers at Smith Point for an evening of Bahamian-style fun on Friday, April 8th.
This
episode will air in May 2011 and while on island they enjoyed the beautiful white beaches and the warm oceans where they were able to loosen their strained muscles. At Outriggers they enjoyed island music called Rake 'n Scrape performed near a blazing bonfire with music by The Islanders. Afterward they were shown how to limbo by two local experts, Duke and the Godfather. Local children from the surrounding Smith Point settlement were allowed to watch and actually joined in on the fun.
Stay tune to The Bahamas Weekly
for video footage which will be released in late May or early June 2011.
The
filming in Grand Bahama was coordinated through the Bahamas Ministry of
Tourism, Film and Television Commission in Grand Bahama and assisted by
a public relations coordinator from the ministry's tourism office in
central Europe.
