Sade Colebrook crowned Miss Grand Bahama 2014

Freeport, Bahamas - Congratulations goes out to 17 year old Sade Colebrook , sponsored by Exquisite Collection who was crowned Miss Grand Bahama 2014 in front of a large audience at Le Chateau on the Green in Freeport on July 27th. Sade Colebrook is a graduate of Sunland Baptist Academy. 1st runner up was Phylicia Collie and Danielle Pratt came 2nd runner-up.

Among other prizes Miss Colebrook wins a scholarship from Terreve College and will undergo Bahamahost training, thanks to the Ministry of Tourism. She will have the opportunity of representing her country at the Miss Coffee International Beauty Pageant in Colombia.

  "I love traveling and experiencing new cultures, exotic foods, and meeting new people," said Sade who has been a volunteer at the YMCA and ICAN camp, and the Humane Society. 
In 2012 Sade came first runner up in the Miss Talented Grand Bahama, not surprising with her passion for singing, dancing, theatre and painting!

"Sade is very respectful young women. She is very mature for age, and willing to learn. I know she will do well," said Glenn Davis, President, Miss Grand Bahama Organization.

Sade aspires to obtain her Bachelors in Performing Arts and a Masters in Business Management in Graphic Design. She also dreams of opening the first Performing Arts Academy in Freeport offering classes that connect to our African roots, ultimately encouraging youth to appreciate their culture.

This year's judges were Tempestt Bullard, McMahon Campbell, Roger Pinder, and Doreen Plummer. They were coordinated by Karon Johnson.

The pre-show featured the talented Jalaya Solomon who performed four songs before the main event which opened with seven beautiful contestants Danielle Pratt, Sade Colebrook, Alexus Brown, Odell King, Lagina Russell, Phylicia Collie and Crystal Lightbourn
who performed a dance number. Hostess for the evening was April Gow.

Little Miss Bahamas, Chelsey Higgs  performed a powerful dance number before the contestants  paraded in their national costumes, and then awards were announced and presented. National Costume  winner was Danielle Pratt, Miss Photogenic went to Phylicia  Collie, the People's Choice Award also went to Phylicia  Collie, the Top Model award was awarded to Sade Colebrook, the Talent Award to Danielle Pratt; and Popularity Award to Phylicia Collie. 

The pageant's top five contestants were then announced as Danielle Pratt, Phylicia Collie, Alexus  Brown, and Sade Colebrook and Crystal Lightbourne. Then brother and sister duo act, Patrick and Annamarie Amerthil gave the performance of their lives. Elverston Rolle also gave a wonderful performance.

The top 5 modeled swimsuits  designed by Fay Rolle and carried hand bags designed by Veronica Ellis, who also received the pageant's Designer of the Year Award award. After swimsuits the top 5 wowed the audience in their gowns.
