Freeport, Grand Bahama - Savemore food store opened in Grand Bahama Thursday,
November 11th after much speculation on the date within the community. The
22,500-square foot building, formerly the Pegasus Warehouse, has been
completely upgraded including new electrical wiring, state of the art “green”
appliances and a total redesign of the spacious interior.
Renovated by local
Bahamian construction company Allied Builders, the newest supermarket for Grand
Bahama has employed a starting staff of forty local Bahamians. “I am very pleased to announce that Jimmy
Williams has joined us as our store’s General Manager and leads an impressive
team of 39 very exuberant staff,” said Steve Savola, Owner. “I met all our staff last week during our
health and safety training and I can tell you they are more than ready to open
– they could not wait!”

The newest food store for Grand Bahama is located on West Settler’s Way and Oak Street and is open seven days a week. “We’ve taken our time in opening, we’ve concentrated on making our food store customer friendly, and most importantly we’ve made our prices affordable,” said Savola. “Our first specials should knock the socks off our customers and hopefully once they see the store’s variety and choice of products, it’ll keep them coming back again and again.”
