Savemore Food Store Opens in Grand Bahama

Freeport, Grand Bahama - Savemore food store opened in Grand Bahama Thursday, November 11th after much speculation on the date within the community. The 22,500-square foot building, formerly the Pegasus Warehouse, has been completely upgraded including new electrical wiring, state of the art “green” appliances and a total redesign of the spacious interior.

Renovated by local Bahamian construction company Allied Builders, the newest supermarket for Grand Bahama has employed a starting staff of forty local Bahamians. “I am very pleased to announce that Jimmy Williams has joined us as our store’s General Manager and leads an impressive team of 39 very exuberant staff,” said Steve Savola, Owner. “I met all our staff last week during our health and safety training and I can tell you they are more than ready to open – they could not wait!”

Savola officially opened his store at an early 7am and Savemore Food Store will remain open weekdays and Saturdays until 9pm. The new food store is located on West Settler’s Way and Oak Street, offers ample parking and has seven registers with one 10 items lane. “We’ve taken our time in opening, we’ve concentrated on making our food store customer friendly, and most importantly we’ve made our prices affordable,” said Savola.“Our first specials should knock the socks off our customers and hopefully once they see the store’s variety and choice of products, it’ll keep them coming back again and again.”

FRESH PRODUCE A BIG HIT WITH SAVEMORE CUSTOMERS! Fresh produce was one of the biggest buys for Grand Bahama customers at the Savemore opening. Savemore Food store has utilized local e-technology to help get the word out about the store opening. “We launched our Facebook page yesterday and will also link this to Twitter to keep our customers informed of our latest news, specials, hirings and more,” said Savola. “We want to keep in touch with our customers, let them know what we are doing and find out what they think we are missing or need to sell.” Under the motto ‘taking a bite out of your family budget’ Savola is confident he can help his fellow Bahamian lower their weekly shopping budget. “We are trying our best to offer the finest products, variety and prices to our customers – we are here to impress Grand Bahamians.”
