Freeport, Bahamas - Ian Rolle, President of the Grand Bahama Port Authority (GBPA) met with Logos Hope’s advanced planning team to discuss their upcoming visit to Grand Bahama, and the potential unique opportunities this ship’s arrival will bring to numerous Grand Bahamians. On 29th July, 2017, the world's largest floating book fair will dock at the Freeport Harbour, with an impressive collection of over 5,000 affordable books for purchase, as well as access to many fun-filled events on board. The Logos Hope invites the people of Freeport to take full advantage of this event and to join the festivities until their departure on 6th August, 2017. Logos Hope is operated by GBA (Good Books for All) Ships e.V., an international charitable organization registered in Germany. Since its launch in 1970, this organization has welcomed over 45 million visitors in more than 150 countries worldwide. Grateful for the special invitation, GBPA President Ian Rolle said, “We are extremely enthusiastic about Logos Hope visiting our island. I believe that this is an amazing opportunity for Grand Bahamians and I eagerly await their arrival later this month. In this day and age, there are far too many people who underestimate the importance of literature and its ability to develop critical thinking skills and inspire our youth. Because of this, I am thrilled that our island has been granted such an amazing opportunity and I hope that Grand Bahamians will enjoy all that the Logos Hope has to offer,” Rolle added.

Hope advanced preparation team member, showcased the sheer magnitude of
this “once in a lifetime experience” and questions “where else in the
world you will find a ship with 400 people from 60 different countries
serving as volunteers?” Further highlighting the diversity and
individuality of this boat, Logos Hope project coordinator Filipe Leite,
noted that, “The crew of the Logos Hope is very unique because we are
all Christians. We all believe in Jesus as our savior and we join as
volunteers for the period of 2 or 3 years.” He went on to describe the organization’s motto of “bringing knowledge, help and hope” and explained their initiative to provide easy and affordable global access to literature.
