Youth Recognition Awards Ceremony in Grand Bahama

Recipients of the Most Outstanding Youth Awards are seen here following the awards ceremony on Saturday October 30, 2010.



Freeport, Bahamas - On Saturday, October 30th, 2010, the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture in conjunction with the Youth Leaders throughout Grand Bahama held a recognition ceremony in the Delphines Room at Pelican Bay Hotel for the outstanding youth on this island.

During the evening the gathering was entertained by
Kristen Saunders
a youth from Eight Mile Rock High School from the Seventh Day Adventist church and Rachel's Daughters pantomime group.

Remarks were given by 15 year old Kenneth Miller, and Gregory Butler, Acting Director of Youth.


Four recipients of National Awards from Grand Bahama were presented with certificates in the persons of Jasmine Forbes, Most Distinguished Youth; Franz Scott, Youth Band Leader; Maria Thompson, Youth Leader Award; and Church of God, Hawksbill, Youth Organization Award.

Jasmine Forbes received Most Distinguished Youth National Award.

Other Outstanding Youth Awards from Grand Bahama were given to Raquel Rose, Anchor Club of Lucaya; Gabrielle Russell, Mary Star of the Sea; Bria Dean, Rachel's Daughters; Zoe-Ann Phonda Avina Johnson, Mt. Calvary Baptist; La-Chante Williams, Zion Baptist Youth Marching Band; Asiyah Robinson, Orchestral School of Music; Davi-Ann Forsythe, Central Zion Baptist Church; Kala Laing, St. Cleveland Baptist Church; Katrina Smith, Orion Pathfinder Band; Indinesha Brown, St. Vincent DePaul; Safara Wright, Church of God, Hawksbill; Jordan Marshall, CYETAM; Rickia Haygood, Girls Mentoring Ministry, Freeport Bible; Janae Adderley, St. John's Jubilee Cathedral; Shantell Francis, Girls Brigade; Stanford Farrington, Reach Out Ministries; Theron Moss, Rotaract; and Patrick Whitfield, Legends Marching Band.
Also present was
Minister of Housing, Kenneth Russell.

Student
Student from the Eight Mile Rock High School treated the gathering at the Awards ceremony with a song.
