Freeport, Grand Bahama – For the past 25 years Grand Bahamians have always looked forward to the Bahamas National Trust’s annual fundraiser at the Rand Nature Centre - Festival Noël. The signature holiday event that heralds the start of the Christmas season on Grand Bahama.

Although we cannot gather in person this year, a week of exciting activities will take place November 30th – December 4th, 2020 for the 26th Annual Festival Noël, reimagined as a hybrid event in the virtual space. The Grand Bahamian community is invited to enjoy and support this week of wine, music, prizes, and surprises and to shop local Grand Bahamian art and crafts this holiday season.

Festival Noël will be coming to you and meeting you where you are. The week of November 30th title sponsor Bristol Wines and Spirits will start the festivities celebrating all things wine with specials on Festival Noël wine packages. Throughout the week Grand Bahamian Artists and Artisans will put on an online exhibition of their works and these will be available for purchase, crowd favourite the Wheel of Joy raffle is bigger than ever with over 40 amazing prizes from local Grand Bahamian businesses. Bahamian Brewery and Beverage will offer special beverage packages in-store to support the fundraiser.

The week culminates, with an immersive virtual experience and musical showcase viewing party with telecommunications sponsor Aliv, sure to get you on your feet, streamed on December 4th, 2020 led by the Uppercut 242 Band. The Festival Noël virtual experience viewing party is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism Grand Bahama Office, Grand Bahama Port Authority, Mackey Media Ltd., FOCOL, Elnet Maritime Agency, Ace Graphics and Printing, Bahamas Wholesale Agencies Ltd., and Keys Bahamas Realty.

“2019 and 2020 have been extraordinary years for Grand Bahama. The effects of Hurricane Dorian along with the global occurrence of COVID-19 has impacted this island to the point where we considered cancelling this year’s event altogether. However, we realize that many people look forward to this event as the jump starter to the Christmas season. After receiving feedback in this regard from members of the public, we decided that it would be very important for us to continue with this year’s event albeit virtually.” Grand Bahama Parks Manager Ellsworth Weir.

To support this fundraiser for the revitalization of Rand Nature Centre join us for the virtual experience viewing party on December 4th on Facebook or call 813-5913.
