Freeport, Grand Bahama - Healthy Lifestyle has been the watchword in the Bahamas for the past several years. Pollo Tropical, since opening its doors in April 2009 has brought to the Grand Bahama community the availability of Fresh Food Serve Fast prepared nutritiously and with the finest ingredients.

As Pollo Tropical prepares to celebrate its 5th year in the Grand Bahama Community, we will host our 5th annual Ride for Charity on Saturday April 12th 2014. This year The Beacon School has been selected as the recipients of the proceeds from the event.

The Beacon School supports and nurtures special needs children in the Grand Bahama community. Opened in 1998 the Beacon school has been a light of hope for Special needs children and their parents, their committed teachers and administration provide an all age education for students while mentoring them to become good citizens. The Beacon School prepares its students for life after school and in some cases its students are returned to mainstream education in public & private institutions. The Beacon School offers technical and vocational training in addition to the core academic subjects like language arts, mathematics and social sciences. The school is committed in the belief that there is something that every child can do.

Participants of the event bike from four locations on the island; Elite cyclist will bike from McLean’s town, Intermediate from High Rock and beginners from The Casuarina Bridge or Balao Circle to all convene at Pollo Tropical for the award Ceremony and Fun day.

This is our opportunity to promote healthy lifestyles and to give back to the community.

The event is coordinated by the Grand Bahama Cycling Association.
