Freeport , Grand Bahama Island Burger King, in our continuing efforts to make a positive impact on our community and our youth, recently presented a cheque to Legacy Baseball/Softball Association to continue its sponsorship of the Burger King Rockies team for the 2010 Legacy Baseball season.

With crime and violence reaching record levels in 2009, said Burger King, it is incumbent to assist and sponsor positive youth activities which for many have become an outlet. The sport of baseball trains our young men in discipline, teamwork and accountability, and these attributes when nurtured, can be the driving force behind our young men reaching their true potential.

Burger King is pleased to assist for yet another year in taking our young men off the streets and providing them with a positive alternative.

“Legacy is happy have Burger King continuing it support for our programme through this sponsorship.

“Legacy’s new season begins in late January 2010 at the YMCA and we urge parents to take advantage of early registration for youngsters ages 5-18 in softball for girls and baseball for boys,” said Ms. Lillian Carey, Legacy Vice President
