The Coalition of Concerned Citizens announces the establishing of a Coalition Hotline for disconnected power company customers. The Coalition Hotline number is 225-9894. The purpose for this hotline is so that customers of the Grand Bahama Power Company/ Emera whose service has been disconnected for 4 weeks or longer can call in to register with the Coalition.

Coalition Convener Pastor Eddie Victor says "There are hundreds of disconnected power company customers and also an undetermined amount of customers who are classified as terminated accounts, but still live in their residences. Based on the information we have, these specific terminated customers represent those who’s accounts have been unpaid for over 60 days and the power company has applied their customer’s security deposit to their outstanding balance." The Coalition believes that hundreds of power company customers who are classified terminated are still living in their residence in darkness. Victor goes on to say that "We been receiving numerous reports concerning disconnected customers who have been out of power for 3 months, 5 months, over one year and some for years.’ The Coalition through the hotline is seeking to better represent disconnected customers with the Grand Bahama Power Company\Emera."

The Hotline and other exiting developments will be shared at the upcoming Lower the Cost of Power Mass Rally on April 8, 2014 at 6:30 pm on the premises of KFC restaurant located on Pioneer’s way. Pastor Victor stated ‘The upcoming Mass Rally will be different than the previous rallies, apart from hearing from leaders in the business sector, Unions and also residences. We will have Solar Energy System Vendors available to provide sells & installation service for secondary alternative power systems." In order to provide financing options, Banks & other financing institutions will be on hand to take applications for loans to purchase Secondary Solar Energy Systems.

What will prove to be one of the highlights of the Mass Rally is the presentation of the newly release computer app called ‘PMAX 77’. This app will be able to calculate your true power consumption in your home each month. Presently the computer app is available on the Apple store and can be downloaded to an IPAD or IPHONE. During the rally there will also be a demonstration of Inverter technology. Inverters can greatly reduce power consumption on high energy electronics in your home such as split air-conditioning units.

The Coalition is convinced that the Hotline will prove to be helpful in assessing the true numbers of disconnected customers throughout Grand Bahama. Again, the Coalition Hotline number is 225-9894, also the Coalition can be reached at 646-9494 or 359-0003 and email: cccbahamas@yahoo.com.
