Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - The Coral Beach Bar and Grill will be hosting a 1st annual Sand Castle Competition on Independence Day, Sunday, July 10th. This is the same location of the annual Bernie Butler BASRA event that is set to take place on August 20th this year.
Owner of the popular seaside eatery, Jim Neil said he'd been thinking of the idea for years. "It's a great family activity and something else to do at the beach."
He suggests that newbies to sand castle building do some research online and to note that the sand is fine, so people may have to come up with ideas to keep the sand together. There will be prizes.
They also plan Hermit Crab Races for the kids, and Horse Shoe Pitching. Brush up on the rules for HERE.
