Far and few in between.

Freeport, Bahamas
– Only three days remain
before the Christmas Holiday and stores, located in the newly
refurbished downtown, are offering up a smorgasbord of bargains to
entice patrons to shop at home, especially downtown. Parents
and children alike could be found shopping in the various clothing,
shoe, novelty and music hubs this weekend.
Parking
spaces were far and few in between as shoppers, trying to catch store
sales, had to circle many times to find one. However, the new parking
lot did make it easier to navigate
the traffic. Once settled, residents were treated to sale tents set up
in front of many businesses to bring the inside, outside. The sales
range anywhere from 10% to 50% with each store visited. “Christmas time
is our busiest season,” shares Mrs. Maude E.
Clarke, owner of Kelvion’s Childrens Store, adding “We have a great
sale which includes a 25% and 50% off rack.”

Many
stores have increased their hours to accommodate the rush of Christmas
shoppers even adding Sunday to their repertoire, if only for the
season. “We are doing well, despite
the closing of the Food Store and will have a 20% storewide
discount.” advised a glowing Dollar Plus employee. The manager of
Athlete’s Foot, D’Andre Archer, said “Business has really been picking
up,” as he gave his interview while serving one of the many
customers.
The
owner of H & L School Supplies and Bookstore, Mrs. Kelly Russell
was asked if the new Churchill Square had affected business and she
replied, “Persons are getting used to the
fact that they have to park and walk and this is not an issue.” The H
& L School Supplies and Bookstore will be celebrating their 13th anniversary this week and will have a 13% discount to commemorate it.
Residents are urged to stay safe during this season.
