Families For Justice Organization held a Press Conference on April 9, 2014
stating, "Murder Victim Families Wants Action From Commissioner Of Police And Minister Of National Security For The Brutal Killing Of Job Munnings By The Police In Grand Bahama"

“We Want Justice For Our Sons Death”

The following is a statement read by the president  of the Families for Justice Organization,  Rev. Glenroy Bethel:

As the president of Families for Justice, this Press Conference, was arranged on behalf of the Munnings family, and other families in the Community of Grand Bahama, who are very much concerned, about the death of Mr. Job Munnings. On January 23rd 2013, Mr. Job Munnings was shot and Killed in Abaco by the Police.

The family later learned, that there Son, Father, Brother, and Uncle death was a mistaken identity by the Police. One year has passed, and no action have been taken by the Minister of National Security, or The Commissioner of Police. Mr. Job Munnings was a innocent civilian  and was Never wanted by the Police when they carried out there execution.

The families were told, by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ellison Greenslade. That the matter have been referred to the Coroner’s Court. One year has passed and no word from the Coroner’s Court. Family Members went to the Coroner’s Court, last week  in New Providence,  to inquire into there sons investigation. But were told by officials of the Coroner’s Court  that they do not have any files at there office for Mr. Job Munnings. The Courts informed the families, that the Courts would, write to the Commissioner of Police, informing Him, to send the files of Mr. Job Munnings within Fourteen days to the Coroner’s Court. After receiving this information from the Courts, the families were shocked to find out, no investigations were being conducted on the death of Job Munnings.

The family said they were deceived in believing that the Coroner’s Court had the files of Job Munnings  according to the Commissioner. As spokesperson for the families. We want Justice for our son Job Munnings. The Police Killed, Assassinate, executed, put to death, bump off. Our son who was innocent. And the Commissioner of Police in Freeport and in New Providence brought no accountability against those Police Officers who are responsible for Mr. Job Munnings Death. His death must account for something. As President of Families for Justice, I will Conclude with this, On behalf of the family of Mr. Job Munnings.

Recently in New Providence the Commissioner of Police, recommended that a Senior Police officer, be put on charge for violating the Royal Bahamas Police Force policies. Regarding a man who was in police custody, for drugs. The Senior Police Officer, gave Authorization for the Man to be Married at the Station, while in Police Custody.

The Commissioner of Police did not condone  this action, by the Senior Police Officer, and the Commissioner of Police, had the full support of The Minister of National Security in this matter. Job Munnings Killing was a mistaken identity by the police it was wrong and should have been dealt with by The Commissioner of Police and the Minister of National Security.
