Families for Justice Organization sent a letter, to the Minister for Grand Bahama Mr. Michael Darville, concerning the inhumane treatment the Grand Bahama Power Company have imposed, on thousands of Bahamians  in  Grand Bahama.

It has been reported, from reliable   sources, that there is  Over 10,000 family Members through out the community of Grand Bahama, living in there homes in the dark for months and in some cases over one to two years with out power. Some with new born babies and small children.

The majority of the families find it difficult to feed there children and themselves  because of no power in there homes. This is inhumane and we call on the Minister for Grand Bahama to take some action against the Grand Bahama Port Authority who is the regulators  for the  Power  Company in our community.

During our research, regarding the Hawksbill Creek agreement the Organization  have discovered  from our legal team, that the Power Company in Grand Bahama was never supposed to be a profit making company. And especially with such high profits putting a Greater  burden on families throughout the community.

As we make this plea to the Minister of Grand Bahama on behalf of  the thousands of family members who are finding it difficult to cook a meal for there families.  To intervene on the families  behalf.

As The President of families for Justice, I make this final plea, to  the Minister of  Grand Bahama  on behalf of its people. to launch an investigation into the community, to determine how many family members   are affected by such conditions. As I conclude, We are Bahamians and we must be our brothers keeper.
