The GBAWC’s 16th Annual Golf Classic takes place February 23d at The Reef Course, with two $25,000 cash prizes for hole-in-one winners. The format is a four-ball scramble, blind draw with a shotgun start at noon. Registration is at The Reef Course Club House February 18th, 19th, 21st and 22nd between 11a.m. and 3 p.m. The $100 registration fee includes dinner and the awards following the tournament at the Ocean Reef Yacht Club and Resort.

Our generous partners, Quality Auto and The Art of Giving, have under-written $25,000 prizes on the 4th and 17th Par 3 Holes. A hole-in-one on the 8th Hole wins a luxurious 4-day,3-night Golf Vacation at French Lick Resort and a hole-in-one on #14 wins a Travis Mathew Head to Toe Signature Outfit plus a $500 online shopping spree.

The Grand Bahama American Women’s Club (GBAWC) celebrates its 53d anniversary this year. Since its inception in 1966, the club has met its philanthropic mission of giving back to the Grand Bahama community by underwriting scholarships and funding community projects and summer camps for island youth. To date, over 200 student scholarships have been awarded.

The GBAWC also continues the work of the Women’s Auxiliary Nursing Division Services (W.A.N.D.S) by screening 2nd and 9th graders for vision and hearing deficiencies. W.A.N.D.S was originally organized in conjunction with the founding of Freeport to provide emergency services and blood donations.
