Freeport,  Bahamas - The Nurses and Nursing Support Staff of Grand Bahama Health Services will join thousands of Nurses around the world in observing International Midwives Day and International Nurses Day in May 2014.  For this reason, activities have been planned to bring awareness to the various elements of Nursing.  The theme for the month is “Nurses: a Force for Change – a Vital Resource for Health.”

In this vein, a calendar of events is provided for your information. These events are to continue to inform our viewing, listening and reading public of the dynamics of Nursing in this region of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

May 2: Nursing Cadets Closing Ceremony  Foyer, RMH 4:00 p.m.

May 3: Healthy Lifestyle Unit in conjunction with West End Community Action Network (WECAN) Community Health Forum St. Mary Magdalene Church 10:00a.m.- 2:00p.m.

May 4:Church Service Bethel Baptist Pinedale, EMR 11:00 a.m.

May 5: International Midwives Day   Opening Ceremony Nurses Month  Foyer, RMH 10:00 a.m.   Open House Obstetrics Ward 12:00p.m – 7:00p.m

May 12: International Nurses Day   Round Table Discussion Foyer, RMH 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

May 22: NACB Professional Leadership  Conference Pelican Bay Hotel 9:00a.m.–2: 00p.m.

May 24:  Hawksbill Clinic Health Fair Church of God Hawksbill 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m

May 27: Eight Mile Rock Clinic Educational  Initiative  Martin Town Primary 9:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.

May 30:  Nursing Staff Luncheon Taxi Union Building  12:00 noon

May 31:  Healthy Lifestyles Screening for Men Pearce Plaza  9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
